I am always on the lookout for neat storage solutions for longer hooklengths. Foam spools are undoubtedly the best and most compact solution but I must admit the pins that help trap the loops are a little fiddly and I often lose them.
There had to be a better way and when I was on my monthly spy mission of rooting through Lee Kerry’s fishing tackle several months ago, I spotted something that I just thought: “Oh why didn’t I think of that!”
Lee was testing the prototype REVAlution spools and as soon as I saw them I knew they would be my next purchase!
The REVAlution spools are a nice small and compact spool with a clever loop-retaining system that can rotate to wherever you need it to keep your hooklength tight. No more fiddly pins! Despite the smaller spool, up to 20 hooks can still be stored on these so don’t worry about the smaller design.
Next up is the storage box. This is the same size as a two-pint bait tub and yet fits 21 spools within. It’s crazy just how neat this system is considering the amount of hooks that you can get in them.
Almost as if they have thought about it… These boxes fit perfectly in the World Champion accessory bags and stack up neatly alongside the various other EVA storage cases that Preston produces.
There isn’t really much more to be said about REVAlution other than it is brilliant! No doubt about it, every feeder angler will want one of these and will definitely be using these spools soon.
Verdict: Simply brilliant!
