New Midlands Canal Series

An exciting new series of matches have been confirmed on a top Midlands stretch of canal.

The BAA-controlled Stoke Works stretch of the Birmingham-Worcester Canal, near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, was once a hotbed of angling with big matches such as the Drennan Super League being held on it. It has always had a reputation for quality fishing with plenty of roach to over 1lb being caught, plus there’s always the chance of carp, bream, big perch and eels turning up in catches.

Since the demise of the Super League, the Stoke Works stretch has been largely untapped for several years but some impressive catches of late has lead to Gary Kirkham deciding to once again run some fixtures on the venue.

Pools will be £14 and no bloodworm and joker is allowed. The draw is at 9am at Stoke Works club with fishing from 10.30am to 3.30pm. There are already 30 booked in for the first match. Up to 100 pegs are available so ring Gary on 07545 569811 to secure your place!
