Sponsor confirms backing for next year's series as waterway delivers great sport.
The popular Rilmac team-of-six league is once again set to run on the Fossdyke Canal, after the sponsors Rilmac pledged there support for another year.
With five matches planned for 2012, the series should be better than ever, especialy as the waterway has already made headlines this winter with bumper nets of perch, roach and skimmers providing first class sport.
Sensas backed ace and venue regular Matt Godfrey spoke to Match Fishing about the fishing on the Fossdyke canal:
“I can’t believe how well the canal has fished so far this year, every section has provided very consistent weights. The nice thing is, while there are more roach and ‘pommy’ hybrids than ever before there also seems to be just as many of the canals trademark bonus perch present, as well as the odd surprise tench,” said Matt. “Interestingly, a lot of the best weights have been taken on baits such as bread punch and chopped worm and caster, meaning anglers have to do more than just fish bloodworm and joker in order to compete.”
The Rilmac is open to teams of six anglers, with the league being worked out on section points. Entry is £120.00 per team, with individual pools of £15.00 per angler per match.
Last year, the league attracted eight teams, but with a number of teams already enquiring about joining, the figure is almost certainly set to rise for 2012.
There are a total of five matches running next year on the following dates:
January 15 January 29 February 12 February 26 March 11
