Welsh International angler Lee Edwards showed why he’s classed as one of the best matchmen in the country after storming to victory on an in-form Kennet and Avon canal.
Competing in the practice for the Winter League Semi-Final for the venue near Marlborough, the Preston Innovations backed ace fished chopped worm on the pole to fend off a field of 89 other anglers to take the top spot. Using the tactics to put together an impressive bag of bream and perch Lee finally weighed in a total of 39lb 5oz - a net that far exceeded the second best weight on the day of 22lb 8oz.
During the match, fished between Wolfhall and Little Bedwin, no less than three other 20lb weights were taken, and a number of 18lb bags too – fantastic canal sport and a great practice for the semi final due to be fished this Sunday.
