Bait tech Festival tight at the top after second day of action.
The second day of the White Acres Bait-Tech festival saw fishing continue in good form, although not with the mega weights of the first day’s action.
Plenty of ton plus bags were put together, an in-form Bolingey again seeing the bigger weights. Porth fished hardest of all the venues, with 20lb taking the top sport on the water, while Callum Dicks managed a section win with a hard earned 8lb 2oz.
On Jennys and Trewater it was Andy Leathers who weighed in top with 138lb 12oz from Jenny’s peg 21 using long pole with worm and caster.
Twin Oacks and Trelawny on day two was topped from peg 16 of Trelawny by Steve Sanders with 135lb 9oz taken on meat shallow on the pole. Greg Hamilton also recorded a 100lb bag from Twin Oaks on similar tactics.
Darren Shaw took a second day victory on Porth with 20lb 8oz from peg 71, while at the other end of the weight scale Martin Wright won on Bolingey with 125lb 4oz from peg 38 on a combination of meat at 5metres and worm and caster down the edge.
Pollwyn saw the feeder reign supreme, with Ian Wheatley using the tactic to bag 109lb 6oz to beat the rest of the field.
All in all the competition sees five anglers finish the second day on maximum 18 points with plenty to play for over the next three days fishing.
