The midway point of the Bait-Tech festival at White Acres and the competition is still very tight at the top with just 2points separating first place from the following nine anglers.
Looking to defend his lead of a perfect score of 29points so far is Tony Wynnick who’s having a great week, but with four anglers on 26 points Tony’s still got to keep his eye on the ball.
A cooler start to the day didn’t put the fish off, with a number of ton up bags weighed in, including a 200lb net from Grant Albutt from Bolingey.
Trelawny and Twin Oaks both produced 100lb nets, the best being amassed by Chris Hill on Twin Oaks with 141lb 14oz taken on waggler and feeder.
Porth is still playing hardball with a figure of just 13lb 4oz being enough for Steve Parry to win from peg 83 on the feeder – Nigel Goddard weighed in just 6lb 1oz of hard earned skimmers to win his section on the lake.
As has been the case all week, Bolingey was the water for big weights on the third day. As mentioned Grant Albutt posted the only 200lb plus weight of the match, taken from peg 45 taken shallow on the pole with worm and caster at 14.5metres. This was followed up by 157lb 12oz from peg 15 caught by Richard Bacon.
Pollawyn didn’t fish as well as it has done, the top weight being 86lb 6oz caught by Alan Lord at 16meters on meat, while 42lb 3oz was enough for Scott Russell to win his section from peg 7.
Des Shipp knows his way around White Acres more than most, as today proved when he won his section on Jennys with the heaviest weight of the Jenny’s and Trewaters match of 97lb 2oz. The net was just enough to pip fellow section winner Rob Wootton who caught on Trewaters with meat at 5mtres and maggot in the margin for 95lb 7oz.
