Report: | The Bob Warden Memorial match was fished on the Kennet & Avon canal from garage pond to Darlington (19 pegs) in aid of lung research. With storm Freya on its way to us, the conditions were rather wet and windy. Strangely the canal had coloured up overnight. with the mild conditions recently, it was expected to fish well and it did, with 11 lbs 9 ozs required to get in the top 6. It pleased everyone to see Lee Warden (M & N Electrical) win his Dad's memorial match. Lee was drawn by the cottages at Darlington and caught roach, hybrids and skimmers on bread all day on the inside. This included 5 big skimmers upto 2 lbs for 14 lbs 6 ozs. 2nd, just half an ounce behind was Glenn Bailey (Stand & Deliver) . He was in the bay at Darlington and caught 12 good skimmers at 13 metres over groundbait and joker along with roach, hybrids and smaller skimmers. 3rd was Kev Boltz (Stand & Deliver) from peg 1 in garage pond. He said he could catch a bleak a chuck on anything he put on. In order to get through them and catch better sized fish he fished worms and managed to catch lots of perch. Lee's brother Leighton presented Lee with the trophy for winning the match.
