The Shimano Aero X1, X2, X3 and Power Margin poles are a family of poles within the overall Shimano pole portfolio. Why? Because these models are made on a different mandrel to all their other ‘higher end’ offerings and they have been designed and engineered with a specific length in mind. The Aero X2 featured in this video, is designed as a 13 metre pole and the balance and overall handling at that length is excellent. However, despite these being more affordable models, they don’t compromise on features and all model share the same top features as their more expensive stablemates and, even though they’re constructed using a different mandrel, the top kits from all the poles across the range interchange.
