Barnsley 'top International Team'

Northern rods pip Starlets to prestigious title.
Ultimate Barnsley Blacks enjoyed a successful trip to France to compete in the Sensas Challenge Final last weekend, finishing 6th out of the 64 competing teams – and earning a huge trophy for being the top finishing foreign (none French) team.

The team, made up of Alan Scotthorne, Lee Kerry, Simon Fields and Frankie Gianoncelli finished with 43 points – tying with another English team, Kamasan Starlets but beating them on weight difference. England’s other representatives, Sensas Mark One, finished in 43rd place.

The match took place on the Lac de L’Uvy in Southern France, and was won by the famous French side ‘Sensas 28.’

The mighty Alan Scotthorne proved just why he is regarded as being the worlds best angler, winning his section on both days of the competition, and earning himself bragging rights as England's top performer.

The UK qualifier for next years event will take place over the weekend of March 9th and 10th, and is open to teams who qualify in any of the Sensas Challenge qualification leagues taking place up and down the country,.
