A Close Battle

Poland and Belgium catching well.
"England still have plenty to worry about in this years World Championship, as Poland and Belgium who finished second and third respectively after yesterday, look to be fairing very well today."

This was the verdict of Match Fishing's man on the bank, Matt Godfrey after the first hour of the second day of the World Championships.

Alan Scotthorne and Steve Hemingray are leading England's charge for victory, and are both winning their section by a slim margin. Fishing pole and bloodworm for small roach and perch is again proving the key tactic for them.

Sean Ashby and Will Raison are also said to be fairing well, and are among the top five anglers in their respective sections. The only major concern for England is Des Shipp, who has drawn a particularly tough part of B section, and recorded just six fish at the end of the first hour.

With all of Poland and Belgium's anglers said to be doing very well, it is a very close race, and England certainly aren't out of the woods yet.
