The Cudmore Revolution

Top northwest fishery sees radical makeover
Cudmore Fishery – the venue that is hosting this year's Fish 'O' Mania Final – has undergone a radical makeover over recent months, following a change of management at the venue.

Fishery manager, Frank Clarke has began putting in place a series of radical changes, including the refurbishment of pegs, a fish stocking programme and the resurfacing of many of the venue's roads.

Frank explained: “We are extremely appreciative of all the anglers who fish here at Cudmore, and as such it is only right that we continually look to invest back into improving the fishery.

"We have added over 4,000lb of fish to the already prolific Arena Pool, which will host the prestigious Fish 'O' Mania Final next month.

"Our specimen lake, Milo Pool, has been stocked with over 2,000lb of carp – including individual fish to 23lb. Likewise, Suez Canal at the venue has been stocked with over 1,500lb of ide.
"
The lake that used to be called Brewsters has now been renamed Panama – following the departure of the former Estate Manager, Cyril Brewster. This has also been stocked with over 1,200lb of ide.

"In addition to the above stocking, many of the paths have been resurfaced, making it a doddle for anglers to get to their pegs. Roads around the venue have also been re-covered, making them kinder on anglers' vehicles.”

Frank also revealed exciting plans for the forthcoming Fish ‘O’ Mania final, which takes place on Saturday, July 13th and the International Challenge that is on Sunday, July 14th. He explained: “We are giving away tickets for free admission, and have secured three top retailers, a beer tent, several angling coaches, so kids can have a go at fishing, and a food van. If you want to see one of the best angling spectacles of the year, then it really is an event not to be missed.”
