Early Lead For England

Shipp, Ashby and Raison winning their sections.
Match Fishing's runners on the bank report that Drennan Team England have taken a convincing early lead, at the end of the first hour of the World Championship on the Żerański Channel in Warsaw, Poland.

In A section, Des Shipp is winning his section, and could even be leading the match overall with several chunky pommies, and two bonus skimmers of 1lb each. He is thought to have well over 1kg in weight.

A steady performance from England's Steve Hemingray, is seeing him sitting well up in B section, while Will Raison in C section has continued to catch roach at a good rate. With over 40 in the net already, it is thought that he is well in front of the rest of the anglers in his section.

In D section, five times World Champion Alan Scotthorne, is doing what comes naturally to him, and putting together a good run of roach on poled bloodworm tactics. He is also thought to be well up in his section.

Meanwhile, the current World Champion, Sean Ashby could be on course to repeat last years glory - as he is also thought to be topping his section with 20 or so roach in the net.
