Futures Bright At Aston!

New lakes to open at Sheffield fishery.
Aston Park Fisheries has announced exciting plans for the year ahead. Spring will see the opening of three new lakes, creating over 100 new pegs on the Sheffield complex. The first is to be a pleasure only pool, while the second two have been dug as canal style lakes with match anglers in mind. These were completed in the summer of 2012, and have been stocked with over 15,000 F1s to 8oz, plus carp, ide and a variety of silvers to ensure year-round sport.

Aston Park is also hosting its first Fish ‘O’ Mania qualifier this year - the winner of which will advance to a £30,000 winner takes all final in July. As well as this, the venue is running a £1,000 winners final, for the winner of the venues Sunday open match contests.

Owner, Alex Mitchell told Angling News Week: “Our fishery has been growing year on year, and we’re making a conscious effort to make 2013 our best yet. The new lakes are designed to suit a variety of anglers, with the pleasure lake ensuring that there will be plenty of spare pegs at weekends. The fish have been stocked well in advance of opening, and I’m sure that they will be ready to feed when we snip the ribbon!

“It’s nice to have been granted a Fish O’Mainia qualifier, and our £1,000 all-winners match is a further opportunity to give anglers a shot at big money here. We are also hosting the National Junior Anglers Association National this year."
