The Barston record has fallen once again and yet again it is Suzi Smith who has done it! Recording a colossal 194lb, which beat her previous record by almost 30lb, the catch was taken on paste fished in the margins of Peg 30. Venue owner Nigel Harrhy had this to say on the catch: “Suzi is extremely difficult to beat at Barston and it's no surprise that she keeps breaking the venue record! How she fishes is a bit of a mystery to all who fish here, but it doesn’t matter if it is winter or summer, she does the damage! “It is also pleasing to see the lake producing great weights such as this. We had a tough time several years ago when the lake was really starting to reach its peak. Sadly we caught the dreaded KHV and that really hampered our progress.

New partner sought for flagship match fishing event. One of the UK’s most prestigious match fishing events, the UK Angling Championship is seeking a new flagship sponsor, to ensure that the event is televised once again.
