'Match This' Final Place For Maver’s Ray Lamb
Maver-backed rod, Ray Lamb has secured the first place in the Maver 'Match This' Final, after winning 2013’s inaugural qualifier at Woodland View Fishery near Droitwich.

Ray drew Peg 4 on High Pool and fished the long pole down the inside at 14 metres and short at six metres to finish the match with 55-09-00.

The first Mega 'Match This' qualifier of the 2013 campaign was attended by 68 anglers. A hard frost the night before and the persistent cold weather leading up to the event, resulted in a difficult day's fishing for most. However, despite the conditions, targeting carp in the margins was the best ploy on the day.

Lee Thornton finished runner-up from Peg 38 on Arles Pool. Lee opted to fish pellet and corn at 16 metres to weigh in 54-13-00 and qualify for the British Pole Championships.

Maver Midlands Captain Wayne Mellings took third place with 43-13-00 from Peg 8 on Arles Pool. Wayne caught shallow fishing a pellet waggler to return 43-13-00.

Fellow Maver Midlands team mate Jason Brown finished in fourth place from Peg 10 on Deans Pool. Like Wayne, Jason fished a pellet waggler to end the match with 34-04-00 and earn his place in the British Pole Championships.

The last of the Maver British Pole Championship placings went to Jamie Hughes (Maver / Bag 'Em Baits). Jamie drew Peg 33 on High Pool and finished the match with 34lb exactly, fishing corn and pellet long at 16 metres.
