Report: After the previous three days of heavy rain the racetrack venue was at it’s highest level for a long time for the nineteen anglers fishing the first day of two matches for the SCAC league. The clouds cleared early and the match was fished in temps close to the 30’s by the end.

Howard Hill followed on from his last match win in the CARC league 2 weeks again with another win today. Again he set up just the waggler and caught carp steady all match to win with just under 33 kg. Richard Brown drawn on peg 9 in the opposite bay had a few carp and lots of wild goldfish on the pole for 2nd with 20 kg. Neil Dourish managed 3rd from the weedy peg 3 catching on both the waggler and pole but most have been cursing the weeds which cost him a few lost fish during the match.

Steve Scott was only a few grams behind Neil for 4th and maintained his top place in the league with today’s results. Tomorrow’s match is back on the same venue so it will! be interesting to see how it fishes two days in a row and with only a few points separating the top 5 places the league is still very close.
