Report: The second day of the weekend’s league match started off with heavy fog over the lake but soon cleared as the sun and heat returned for the day again. The lake fished way better today and it was a close match with the top weights all coming from different areas. With a few bigger fish showing up today only one or two fish separated the top 5 weights and a total of 373 kg was weighed in by 18 anglers.

Despite losing more fish than he landed in the heavy weed beds on peg 1 Dara Finnegan went on to win today’s match with 39 kg. He caught on both pole and waggler most of the match only stopping to replace a trashed rig or hook length “several” times. Showing his Dad (Steve Scott) how it’s done by finishing in 2nd place today was Matt Scott with 35 kg catching mostly on the pole. Keeping his form over the weekend and in 3rd place was Neil Dourish with just less than 33 kg and was unlucky as he was also on today’s $500 golden peg. Danny Brown and Ivan Mitchell finished 4th and 5th with only grams again separating them at 29 kg each.

With only 4 matches now remaining Steve Scott still remains top of the league, but with dropped results coming into play is now coming under pressure from Dara Finnegan (4 points behind), both Neil Dourish and Mark York (5 points) and Ivan Mitchell (9 points). The next match is back on the racetrack venue so should be another close one.
