207lb net sees Chertsy rod in Fisho Final
Perry Stone has booked his place in the Fish ‘O’ Mania grand final, after weighing in a massive 207lb of carp in the Monks Lake qualifier.

Following the draw, Perry was said to be quite happy with his Peg B5 on Bridges Pool, and attacked it with a Method-feeder approach, and pellet hook bait casting 80 yards to the edge of an island. This will be Perry’s third appearance in the final having fished it twice at Hayfield.

Early morning rain soon cleared to leave a bight windy day for the 130 anglers, who were pegged over the four match lakes, plus the Specimen Lake, Bridges Pool. The word on the morning was that not very many wanted to draw Bridges, little did they know that it would go on to produce the eventual winner!

Runner up was MAP and Bait Tech rod Tony Curd, another former Fish 'O' Mania finalist. Tony drew Peg 134 on Match Lake 4 where he fished pellets shallow on the long pole to take carp to 5lb in his net of 176lb 8oz.

Lake 4 also provided third place for Dean Lock (DELCAC) who also fished pellet shallow at Peg 143 to record 174lb of carp. In fourth place with 152lb 8oz from Peg 87 on Lake 2 was Miles Levy from Basingstoke. Miles caught on the Method feeder.

Fifth place went to Wayne Heywood (Rivendell) with 135lb of carp and barbel caught on pole. There were 14 weights over 100lb on the day, and eight of the 10 peg sections were won with weights in excess of 100lb.
