New partner sought for flagship match fishing event.

One of the UK’s most prestigious match fishing events, the UK Angling Championship is seeking a new flagship sponsor, to ensure that the event is televised once again.

For the past five years, the event has been sponsored by top tackle company Preston Innovations, but it has told the organisers that it won’t be supporting the competition this year.

The event's media director, Rob Hughes said: “We would like to extend a big thank you to Preston Innovations, for its support over the last few years. It has played a key part in establishing the UK Championships as one of the most coveted events in British match fishing – thanks in no small part to the Sky Sports TV Coverage that its backing has helped us to secure.

"The good news for other interested parties, is that there is now a very unique opening for a tackle company to take on the role of headline sponsor. Not only would this be a great marketing opportunity for them, it would also help to ensure that the event is televised once again. I am very hopeful that a new partner can be found over the coming weeks.”
