The Upper Thames Champs

The upper Thames Champs attracted 19 teams of six. Conditions on the day were good as regards the wind of recent matches but still there was little flow however plenty of small fish were caught.


Radcot, Clanfield, Rushey and Newbridge

Rushey was the section where the winner can from with a surprise 14.15.0 barbel falling to chop worm on the pole, a huge fish by any standards. Along with a 3.10.0 perch plus bits for a winning 24.4.0. Newbridge also throw up some good weights with Steve Townsend landing a big chub and a tench and nearly 10.0 of bits for 20.10.0 and second place. In third was Pete Townsend who had three 5lb chub and some bits for 9.13.0. Richard Rosinski in the same section landed two good bream plus 7lb of bits for 4th. Team wise Daiwa Gordon League just piped Oxford Drennan by 1 point to take victory on the day with 92 points to Oxfords 91. Shakespeare were third with 81, Diawa Dorking 4th with 77 and in fifth place tying on 75 points was Turners Blue and Riverlution.
