Manager upbeat about team's chances.
The Welsh international team has announced backing from top tackle brand Tri-Cast and Shropshire fishery Weston Pools.

The Senior Welsh Team, under new manager Andy Johnstone OBE, will compete in the World Championship in Poland on September 14th and 15th on the Zeranski Canal, near Warsaw.

Andy said: "It is always difficult to find a sponsor, so I was delighted to agree a deal with Weston Pools and Tri-Cast. For the first time, we can compete without any financial worries. We are very grateful for the generosity.”

Andy also explained that he has thanked previous sponsor Shimano for its support over a long period, and went on to say: ”I’m really upbeat about our prospects at this year’s World Championship – we’re definitely moving in the right direction.”  

The Weston Tri-Cast Team Wales line-up for the World Championship is Darren Frost, Lee Edwards, Nigel Evans, Ben Roberts, Ian Leach and, making his debut, Amer Jawad.
