A Winter Series With A Difference...
New format teams of four league already proving popular.
There is less than two weeks to go before the popular Sensas Teams Of Four league gets underway at Hayfield Lakes near Doncaster.
Headed up by match organisers Lee Kerry and Tom Scholey, the league is to undergo a number of changes this year, with the aim of encouraging more people to get involved. With eight teams already booked on the league, the new format looks to be proving popular.
Tom Scholey explained: "Both Lee and I are very fortunate in that a large part of our job involves talking to anglers - and we have taken on board a lot of comments from different people in putting together the structure of this league.
First and foremost we have picked venues where anglers will get plenty of bites - so they are guaranteed a good days fishing for their money.
We are keeping costs to a minimum - the league is free for teams to enter, and the fixed pools on each match are just £20 per man. The payout will be spread too, with five peg section prizes being paid, as well as the top three overall."
Even though it is free to enter, the league carries a great prize however - that being qualification to the UK Sensas Challenge Final for the top three teams, with top teams from this event qualifying for a grand final in France!
All matches will be four hours in length, and fished to international rules, essentially meaning that a 13m pole limit is in place, and no feeder fishing is allowed. If you haven't fished to international rules before, don't be put off - they are very easy to understand, and will be fully explained on the first match, with plenty of opportunity to have your questions answered.
There is also to be a practice match this Saturday, 2nd November at Hayfield for anglers wanting to practice. Give us a call on the number below if you would like to fish, or feel free to come for a walk around and ask any questions."
