Bait Tech Viaduct Gets A Makeover!

Winter is the time that many of the country's fisheries see any maintenance work carried out in readiness for the busy warmer months ahead, and is an important period for all fishery owners. Steve Long and Paul Greenwood are two such people, who have invested heavily in the upkeep of well-known venue Viaduct Fishery.

Bait-Tech's Andy Neal paid the venue a visit and caught up with venue owner Steve Long.

“With some of the pegs showing wear from the previous busy year’s trade, now is the time for us to get in and replace them,” commented Steve. “We have a fantastic regular customer base as well as some huge events fished here. Of course, the fishing has to be up to scratch, which is something we pride ourselves on, but angler comfort and safety is of massive importance too.

"Over the winter we have replaced many of the fishing platforms that have shown wear, added our new stylish peg boards – courtesy of Bait-Tech – and completed lots of other groundworks we wanted to attend to. Among all of this we have still been open and, pleased to say, busy.

"The fishery has been producing great catches. The mild weather has meant the fish kept feeding and some great catches reported. With our new pegs we can now settle in ready for what promises to be another busy year ahead. We have some big events lined up, starting with the first Fish 'O' Mania qualifier in April, a Drennan Knockout Cup round and a Garbolino Club Angler of the Year qualifier, as well as plenty more booked in throughout the year. Our lodge bookings are filling quickly, so all we need now is for the sun to come out and breathe a little warmth our way.”
