Didier Does The Damage

World Champ wins on British soil.
Didier Delannoy proved exactly why he is World Champion this week, after winning a match in England whilst on a business trip over here!

The Rive backed ace travels over to England on a yearly basis, and stops with his good friend, and five times former World Champion, Alan Scotthorne, to do a bit of fishing, and service the UK’s Rive accounts.

Whilst over here this time, Didier decided to drop on a Sensas International rules match, at Hayfield Lakes near Doncaster.  With England Internationals, Alan Scotthorne and Lee Kerry in attendance, both of whom know the venue well, it was never going to be an easy battle to win.

However, Didier got his head down, fishing bloodworm on the bottom at 11m, over a bed of groundbait and leam, and put together a 18lb 7oz net of roach. Word on the bank was that Alan Scotthorne had also caught well however, and when he pulled his net out it was clear it was going to be very close.

Luckily for Didier, Alans fish went 18lb 2oz – giving the Frenchman victory by the narrowest of margins.

Result:
1 Didier Delannoy (Rive) 18-7-0
2 Alan Scotthorne (Barnsley Blacks) 18-2-0
3 Lee Kerry (Barnsley Blacks) 15lb 4oz
4 Sam Wildsmith (Ultimate Barnsley) 15lb 2oz
