Pole Fishing

Sometimes we all want to expand our options when it comes to pole fishing. And adding more top kits to your rod bag is a great way to get those options covered, meaning you can carry a wider selection of top kits with a wider range of elastics to suit all types of scenarios. Some venues and certain methods these days demand that you have plenty of top kits set up, especially when it comes to fishing shallow. More kits also means you can set up multiples and spares of each rig just in case you need them. 

Maver has several different options available in both 22mm and 18mm diameter so not only will they fit the Maver models listed they’ll also work with any other pole that uses the same diameter top kits. All topkits come pre-bushed, and with Maver’s revolutionary roller slots pre-installed.MV-R Series top kits – will fit all current MV-R series poles. They will also fit all previous Signature, Definition, Oculus, Performance, Match This and Elite models. These kits will also fit other manufacturers’ poles with a 22mm diameter.

B8988 Powerlite – elastic rating 16, these are a strong but lighter grade of carbon and best used fishing long for ultimate performance and rigidity.

B8990 Commercial kits –elastic rating 20, good for power work and catching big weights of carp.B8927 & B8932 – the same as the above, but finished in a smoke grey colour, which some anglers prefer to use as they are reported to offer less of a silhouette against the sky, making them better for wary fish, clearer water and for shallow fishing.

MV-RXX kits (consisting of B998/B9148/B9150/B9155) – elastic ratings the same as above, the main difference is that these are made on an 18mm mandrel so they will only fit the Maver XX and XS poles and their margin pole. However, they will also fit other poles on the market requiring an 18mm diameter top kit, too.

The B9149 Matchlite kit – a match kit that has an elastic rating of a 10, so is very much tailored for lighter elastics and silver fish work.
