New brands in the match fishing market don’t come along all that often, but when they do it’s interesting to see what they can offer in a crowded marketplace. 

The latest to launch is Feva, a new name to the angling public but one that comes from a well-established wholesaler with more than 25 years’ knowledge in the business. Their mission statement is: “A new UK brand built for anglers who crave performance, precision, and innovation, Feva is all about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and keeping you one step ahead of the competition.” 

There has been great attention to detail in the design and manufacture of all the items in the range, and it’s quality gear at sensible prices. It is designed and produced to hit a quality level not a price point, in other words good quality gear at good value for money prices. There’s plenty to go at already but plenty more is in the pipeline too.

Launching officially in April, Feva tackle will be sold by good, independent tackle shops and it has several around the country on board already, together with some top match anglers including Chris Cameron, with more joining all the time. We’ll be looking at some of the items in the Feva range over the coming months, starting with the Liquid Action hybrid elastic, which looks at first glance to be revolutionary, in the May issue, but in the meantime here’s a selection of tackle items from Feva to whet your appetite.

Liquid Action Elastic
This latest second generation hybrid elastic gives for example, the strength of an 8-10 elastic with the action of a forgiving 4-8, so there’s a strength and action guide on each packet. Long-lasting, with special viscosity lubrication it is super-strong with a 700 per cent stretch ratio, resulting in a smooth liquid forgiving action, which means fewer bumped fish. Available in the following action ratings to cover all usage situations: 4-6, 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, 12-14, 16-18.

10m Carp Stopper Pole
The T10 Carp Stopper pole is ideal for catching animal carp at mid-range or down the margins. Super-strength carbon layers allow the pole to flex when you hit a double figure monster yet give a stiff responsive action without compromising weight and overall balance. It has a world-strong 30 elastic rating and an exceptional Slip-Slide finish to make shipping a dream. QT8 Rods 
Designed for modern commercial fishery anglers who need a rod that is both forgiving in action but super-strong, the QT8 Quadtronic range are built using super-strength carbon layers which allow the rods to be stiff enough for casting accuracy, yet strong and forgiving enough to subdue double-figure carp.

Lifta System Spoon Nets
Two high quality match nets, available in 20in and 22in versions with Super-glide netting that resists water, on a robust Alli-lite frame and incorporating a Smart Lifta handle device for speed of netting fish. The netting is stitched to create a cradle to ease fish into the net and the net depth is short for ease of straddling the net over your knees.

Flexi-Grip Rise Pole Pots
These lightweight pots are taller to allow safe shipping-out of baits and have two optional unique flip-lids, one for larger 6 to 10mm pellets, the other, with three smaller holes, for pepper style feeding with micros. The soft grip base allows the pots to be placed right at the end of your pole for perfect presentation. Side and base holes stop a vacuum forming when dispensing compressed baits, just a tap on the pole and the contents empty easily.

Nobblers Floats
created specifically for up-in-the-water fishing on carp commercials, with three sizes in the range. With screw-in interchangeable swivel bases, clear lightweight tubing makes them virtually invisible underwater and anti-spook. They quickly recover once landed to give quick bite registration. Banda Method Hooks To Nylon
FH-Q2 anti-glint barbless hooks (offset so the hair keeps in-line), machine-tied to low diameter line. They are four inches long with quick loop attachment. Each rig features a haired 100 per cent latex band.

Accu-Point Catys
These compact and lightweight catapults are designed with a small amount of flex in the arms to assist accuracy and distance. Available in Pellet and Squatt/Maggot pouch versions. The handle is ergonomically designed for easy handling while holding a pole. These special pouches keep baits grouped and the elastic is 100 per cent natural soft latex.

Q-Tech Line
A unique co-polymer line, specially developed for both Method and up-in-the-water fishing on carp commercials. Specially developed for Method and shallow fishing, its exclusive Tuf-Shell technology creates water-walker properties for float fishing, while also allowing the line to sink perfectly for Method work once it is pulled below the water’s surface tension. The Hard-Shell outer also assists casting, improves knot strength, creates anti-abrasion properties for extra durability and reduces refraction so light does not go off at an angle. 
In a Method brown colour, and supplied on 300m spools, Q-Tech was one of the first things Feva wanted to develop, realising the need for a reliable and incredible Commercial fishing line.
