Nswcarc League Final, Australia

Report from the NSWCARC League Final, ACT, Australia

Club Lake, Canberra, ACT, Australia | Date of match: 11th December
Number of anglers: 12

Match Report: A day with four seasons in one made it hard fishing for most in the final league match of 2011. Sunny with temps in the 30's for the first half of the match changed with 60 mm of rain, thunder and lightning for the second half. There was even a 25 minute break today in the middle of the match as the lighting got a little close for comfort. Small carp and goldfish made up most of the weights on the pole. Ivan Mitchell managed to keep fish coming to the net regular and had a few bigger fish also in there to win today's match and regain the league title for the second year running. He finished level with Dara on overall points. Both anglers had the same amount of 1st and 2nd place finishes when the dropped results were taken off also, so it was down to a weight count back to separate them.

Well done on winning again this year to Ivan.

John (no turtles today) Davis took second spot today with the help of 2 carp for 20 lbs in the last 25 minutes to sneak ahead of the rest of us and Paul Cooper took 3rd spot.

Overall a total of 1,303 lbs of fish was weighed in over 9 matches. This works out an average weight per angler of 32lbs per match which is quite good considering we had three matches fished in flood conditions and another in extreme heat. Most of the matches have been pretty close with only a fish or two separating each angler’s positions in each match. Top weight in a match this year was 118lbs of Wilberforce
