River Hull Angling Champs
Hugely successful Inaugural competition sees over 200 anglers hit the bank from across the UK.
One of the biggest matches of the year has proved a huge success when 210 anglers lined 26km of Yorkshire’s river Hull for the River Hull Angling Championship.
Run as a fish survey match to help the East Yorkshire Chalk Rivers trust and the Environment Agency, the huge event saw anglers from across the country come to compete.
In the end though it was local knowledge that won the day, with Hull angler Mick Anderson bagging 3.46kilos of roach after a good draw along the Shipyard stretch of the waterway to take home £840 plus a top of the range Daiwa match reel.
Plans are already being put together for next year’s contest, along with a similar event on the Derwent.
