Report: The 1st round of the Sensas Commercial House League was fished on a clear river with very windy conditions. The Jack Whites and Frys sections had a tide peak just after the start of the match. Despite this, it fished rather well with 18 anglers recording double figure weights. The top 3 weights all came from A section at Swinford. Glenn Calvert (Maver) won the match from peg A3 (permanent peg 4). He caught a bream early, on the groundbait feeder with worm and then caught odd skimmers throughout the match on the same method. He weighed 21 lbs 15 ozs. 2nd was Liam Braddell (Preston Innovations Thatchers A) from A9 (permanent peg 15). He caught 18 lbs 8 ozs of skimmers between 8 & 12 ozs each, by alternating between the flat float and the feeder. He caught on worms and put in balls of groudbait occasionally. 3rd was Clive Branson (Sensas Nomads) from A2 (permanent peg 3). He caught 15 lbs 11 ozs of roach and dace on a crowquill fished down the middle, feeding hemp and castor. Preston Innovations Thatchers B continued last years winning form by winning the A division on the first match, whilst Maver won the B Division.
