For sure they have got better and also much cheaper, but fundamentally they all revolve around the same principles. I suppose the biggest shift was when modern commercial anglers started using front-drag reels instead of the previously popular rear-drag offerings.

Christmas Fur & Feather match announced. Sunday 22nd December will host the 2013 annual Fur & Feather match at Tri Cast Weston Pools near Oswestry in Shropshire. Everyone is invited to the match, which costs just £25 to enter including food after the match. Alongside the usual pools payout, there will be random prizes awarded to certain pegs, and there is expected to be some novelty prizes too.
Preston Innovations England Feeder Team take World bronze. Preston Innovations Team England have taken a team bronze medal in this years World Feeder Championship, held at Bloemhof Dam in South Africa. The team lost out on a silver medal on weight countback, by just over 8kg. A tough second day saw the team add 32 points to their 16 point tally from day one - with Tom Pickering being the teams best performer on the day, with a section second.
