Sensas 445 Carp’x Power Pole

Pole ranges from Sensas have received more than a warm welcome over the last couple of seasons and editor Alex Bones was recently handed a new 445 Carp’X Power to review. Here goes…

The 445 is one of the poles from the new Series 5 range, which is centred around using a slightly larger section diameter than Series 4 models such as the popular 774 model.

This diameter difference actually increases stiffness and offers better balance, so although the pole is a little heavier it’s remarkably stiff and manageable. But that’s not the best bit… it’s the strength of this mid-priced tool that should be recognised.
The name Carp’X really gives the game away, but this model is Sensas’ entry into the power-pole market and comes supplied at 13 metres with a 14m extension and a dolly butt, three top two power kits and a cupping kit, giving you 14.5 metres of power perfection – the perfect package for those looking to do a lot of crunching where any weak link in the armour will be exposed.

The pole comes supplied in a tidy holdall and clean caps to keep some of the smaller sections free of grit. There’s a strengthening weave on the base of the No4 and No5 sections that also adds to the visual appeal of the pole, but it’s the wall strength that is impressive thanks to the toughened construction employed throughout the design process.
It’ll handle any elastic you can throw at it, says Sensas, and at 13 metres it remains pleasant to hold while oozing the sort of power you’d expect from the name.

Section alignment arrows enable you to keep the pole’s spine aligned for optimum rigidity, while the smooth matt finish offers easy-glide shipping.
Sensas has included ‘potting points’ on the 13m section onwards to enable ultra-accurate feeding at longer lengths. Expect to pick one up for around £749.
