Close battle between Poland and England.
As the second day of the World Championships moves past its halfway point, England are locked in a very close battle with host nations, Poland.

The local experts are performing well in every section, targetting bleak in the difficult areas and roach in the more productive zones.

That said, outstanding performances by England's Steve Hemingray, and Alan Scotthorne, who are both winning their sections is thought to be keeping England nudged in front of the home nation. Alan has over 70 fish, and is confidently leading his section, leading some to speculate that a sixth individual World Championship victory could be on the cards for the Barnsley ace.

Sean Ashby is fairing well, and is currently ranked fifth in his section. The going is not so easy for Will Raison in A section, where several big fish are now being landed, pushing him down to around halfway in the rankings.

The real concern for the England management is Des Shipp however, who could be last in his zone - meaning a massive 18 penalty points for England if the situation doesn't improve by the end of the match. Des has drawn a notoriously difficult area, and is struggling for bites, catching just 12 fish up to now in the competition.
