England ‘catching more than other teams”Preston Innovations Team England are reported to be catching more than other teams in the run up to the World Feeder Championship in South Africa. Match Fishing’s man on the bank reported: “England are catching very well. The lads are very well motivated and have had a good week, team manager, Tommy Pickering has a plan, and it seems to be better than any other teams. ” Carp are the main target species, with the fish that Phil Ringer is holding up proving the average stamp.
Team dominate 96 strong event. Maver Midlands have hit the jackpot in this year's popular Heronbrook Winter League series, locking out the top two placings. Team
Captain, Wayne Mellings, entered two teams of four into the twenty four
team event with the Maver Midlands Bag 'Em squad consisting mainly of
Trevor Robinson, Jake Robinson, Jamie Hughes and Neil Machin and a Maver
Midlands team made up of Jason Brown, Jordan Hall, Dave White and
himself. Having lead the six round series from the off, it was
the Maver Midlands Bag 'Em team that took the honours, producing solid
performances each week which saw the team maintain pole position for the
duration of the series.
Top tackle shop starts sale early!Cheshire based tackle giants, Stapeley Angling Centre have announced a pre Christmas bargain bonanza - starting on Saturday. Following a recent move in location, the store has decided to celebrate by offering a month long sale. Store manager, Neil Stockton explained: "Normally our Christmas sale starts in December, but due to our new location this year we have decided to run it for a month starting on Sat 23rd November until Monday 23rd December. All items are reduced as normal with ex display items up to half price and great deals on any larger items like bivvies, rods, reels and luggage.
Bonus fish prove crucial at Hayfield. Cameron Hughes has won the first round of the Northern Sensas Challenge at Hayfield Lakes, with a 21-10-8 net. The Rive backed rod caught quality roach on short pole bloodworm tactics, including several bonus perch, and a 4lb tench in his winning catch. Runner up, Frankie Gianoncelli also made small fish his quarry, but included several big perch and a large carassio in his catch.

Match Fishing's man on the bank in South Africa has reported that Preston Innovations Team England are doing very well in the first two days of official practice ahead of this years World Feeder Championship, which takes place this weekend It is reported that England had 42 Carp today, with other nations averaging between 15 and 30 fish - which is leading many to speculate that England have got their tactics just right. As more and more bait goes into the venue, it is also said that the fishing is getting better and better, with more and more fish homing in on the bait. Understandably, team England are keen not to disclose too much about the tactics that they are using.

Richard Pulford has won the first round of the Thorne Teams Of Three League, with a 17-15-0 net of quality roach and skimmers.
Drawn on peg 208, Rich enjoyed an early run of perch on bloodworm and small roach on bread, before turning his attention to a long pole swim, fed with casters. A procession of chunky roach, and skimmers came to his net – as well as a bonus 3lb bream for a total weight of 17-15-0.
Welsh international wins RiverFest final. Flowing-water expert and former Welsh international Andrew ‘Spud’ Murphy has won the inaugural RiverFest final on the River Wye, and pocketed the £10,000 winner's cheque. The event, which saw qualifiers take place all over the country, culminated in a two-day final on the Hereford stretch of the Wye. Event organiser Dave Harrell commented on his Facebook page: “The weekend has proved an incredible match of twists and turns and a fitting end to RiverFest 2013.
Northern angling complex continues to expand. Garbolino Lindholme Lakes, near Epworth in Lincolnshire has enjoyed a colossal growth over the last twelve years, growing from just two lakes to the super-complex that it is today. But owner, Neil Grantham has still more plans for the venue – with three new lakes and an additional 100 touring caravan spaces set to open next year. He has also won planning permission for another 100 lodges on site.
