Report: he Bob Warden Memorial match 2018 was fished by 22 anglers on the Kennet & Avon canal from the Malthouse to the George. A fantastic amount of £304.10 was raised for lung research! Conditions were mild and dry and there was a fair bit of colour in the canal. Being a bank holiday weekend, there was a lot of boat traffic all day. The winner of the match was Glenn Bailey of Stand & Deliver Promotions. He was drawn on the white gate at the George and fished punch at 5 metres, followed by groundbait at 11 metres later on. He caught 80 roach to 6 ozs and a 2 pound skimmer for 10 lbs 8 ozs. Glenn was presented with the winners trophy by Lee & Leighton Warden. Rich Whitmarsh of Sensas Nomads was 2nd with 8 lbs 10 ozs from the first peg at the Malthouse. He fished maggot and groundbait on the inside and then across catching roach, chublets to 8 ozs and bleak. Andy Britt of Mosella Bathampton was 3rd from peg 3 at the malthouse. He caught roach and small skimmers on punch on the inside.
