When it comes to fishing big waters, Dynamite Baits’ Rob Perkins reckons fishing two lines at once will get you loads more bites.
Although I’m a massive fan of fishing natural waters, Ulley Reservoir is fairly new to me.
I first saw a few match result posts on Facebook early last year, showing low double-figure bags of roach and the odd even bigger bag of bream. “That looks like an ‘interesting’ water,” I thought to myself, and the rest is now history as I’ve now enjoyed quite a few open matches here.
Joe Carass gets his hands on the stunning new Cast’izm rod range from Daiwa.
The Cast’izm name has become synonymous with anglers who require tackle that is capable of just a little bit more. The Cast’izm reels, despite their price tag, have become a must-have for any angler looking to cast a long way. Walk around any feeder match and you are likely to see a load of them in use.
This year's event will be held at Colemans Cottage Fishery in Essex on Saturday 6th October 2018. With Bob Nudd celebrating fishing with Browning for over 30 years this year as always we like to remember the heritage of our brand and reward our Browning supportive anglers too. Over the years we have seen poles aging over 30 years, some of which are immaculate and cared for and some proving they have stood the test of time and the rigors of match angling.
So do you have a Browning "classic" pole still being used today or even one you never wanted to pass on? Yes! Then this event is for you.

Report:
he Bob Warden Memorial match 2018 was fished by 22 anglers on the Kennet & Avon canal from the Malthouse to the George. A fantastic amount of £304. 10 was raised for lung research! Conditions were mild and dry and there was a fair bit of colour in the canal. Being a bank holiday weekend, there was a lot of boat traffic all day.
Joe Carass checks out the Centris NT reels, a new era in reel design from Preston Innovations.
Preston Innovations has really kicked on recently with some terrific tackle releases that are becoming must-haves for any angler. It has been at the very forefront of the feeder revolution and that association with feeder fishing only looks to be growing stronger. The one thing missing was a really good range of reels; cue the development of the Centris NT range.
Joe Carass joins Rive’s Amer Jawad on the bank to take a look at the new R16 range. Rive has offered something of a sleeper hit in the pole market for a few years now – the R16 Professional is an incredible pole that probably hasn’t had the attention it deserves in the UK. Anglers across Europe have realised what a special piece of kit it is, but for some reason in the UK it’s stayed under the radar. However, those who have seen them and got their hands on one realise what a great pole the R16 Professional is.
When fishing at long range for big slabs, Dynamite Baits’ Ian Smith reckons the window feeder is a tactic that takes some beating…
With ‘traditional’ feeders you used to have the choice of either a blockend (maggot) feeder or an open-ended one. These days there sits in the middle what is known as a window feeder.
These are more a hybrid of the two. Having started their existence in Ireland, in the last few years they have become more and more popular in this country.
The Irish scene is booming now and with a festival-filled calender, there has never been a better time to book!

We take a look at the new Dark Super Blend from Spotted Fin.
Cold, clear water means one thing, and that is dark groundbait. It is no secret that Spotted Fin has impressed me hugely, so when it sent through the new dark Super Blend I was keen to see what the mix had to offer.
One criticism I have of some dark or black groundbaits is that they don’t actually stay dark once in the water.
