Some tough river conditions make for exciting sport over the three day festival at Burton. 2011 Coors Shakespeare Burton Three Day Angling Festival River Trent at Burton60 pegs Day OneThe first day of the festival was eagerly awaited but conditions didn’t look too promising – a low gin clear river greeted the 60 competitors. But surprisingly the roach and dace shoals decided to feed. First blood went to Lincs County’s Phil Foster who fished for roach for 2hours on the waggler and maggot before targeting two late barbel on feeder and pellet, which together weighed 18lb giving him a total catch of 26lb 6oz.
