And with a bit more flow on the river than in the previous round some good sport was on offer, with 17 of the anglers posting double figure weights. It was Liam Braddell who took the honours though, winning the match fromnear the split willows in the cornfield at Swinford.

Round four of the Irish Float Team qualifiers stepped up a gear with great sport on the Newry canal. Match four of the Irish Float Team Qualifiers proved to be the most successful 
yet, both in terms of the numbers of fish caught and the total weight caught by 
the anglers. Top individual angler of the day was Nick Howell (Tyrone) with 80 fish for
4. 080Kgs of Roach, Perch and Hybrids on peg 14.

Two consecutive wins for Harrison as he takes the top spot by over 40lb. EVENT: WEDNESDAY ‘KOBRA’ OPENVENUE: LAKE TWO DYNAMITE MAKINSDATE: 14 September 2011PEGS: 22Chris Harrison (Bailey’s of Warwick) made it two consecutive Wednesday KOBRA Open wins with 147-06 of carp from Lake Two at Dynamite Makins. Drawn on peg A20 (opposite end of the lake to his previous week’s win), after failing to catch on method feeder a switch to straight bomb and pellet saw an immediate response from carp which continued to feed to the end of the match. Lee Westwood (Litchfield) fished a similar match from B17 for his 117-00, with Jason Shirley (Bailey’s of Warwick) taking 99-06 from peg A4 for third place.

Steve Crocker (Mansfield Sensas) on peg 1 caught 25 fish throughout the match, all on pellet fished towards the island on long pole for his 89-08 winning weight. At the other end of the lake on peg 16, Dave Hicken (Disco) alternated his margins swims throughout, and caught carp and a golden tench on pellet and sweet corn baits for a total of 50-00 for second place.

Pete Wood (Coalville) took second spot with 69-04 from peg A4, with Attleborough Angling’s Terry Phillips in third with 55-10 from A9, both catching on pellet and bomb.

With four wins out of five rounds Browning Wickford Y took the league title with 195 points, second was Browning Wickford X with 174 points and JP Tackle A third with 147.

Strong winds make thing tricky at Sherwood, but still the ton bags keep coming. Holmedale Lake Wednesday 14/9/1122 fished Due of the strong winds on the day event winner John Darby opted to fished the pole short at 5m with meat over pellet at peg 39. It was a decision that saw him catch all match, landing carp to 10lb to amass the only ton of the competition with a level 118lb. Second placed Roy Butterfield also fished the pole but with corn out at 7m and down both margins for carp to 7lb, just heading off the tight completion behind him with 84lb 7oz.
