Middy’s Hardcase Pole Protectors - Upgrade Your Luggage Game

Hardcase pole and rod cases are simply brilliant! I switched my own personal ‘old school’ rod holdall over to a hardcase style one as soon as they were first launched, simply because they offer superior protection along with a host of other benefits.

These are Middy’s latest offerings and are known as Hardcase Pole Protectors, which come in two different sizes. There’s an XL version measuring in at H200cm x W20cm x D12cm and a smaller version measuring H180cm x W18cm x D12cm.

Going back to what I said about the benefits, not only do they offer superior protection for your pole and other contents, they’re also waterproof and easily wipeable. For me (and many other anglers) these are key benefits that just make a case like this a logical choice. Inside the XL version you’ll easily fit a 16m pole package with plenty of spare kits and room to spare. In fact, depending on what pole you use, you can actually fit eight butt sections (four on each side of the case) inside the XL version. The smaller version is a little bit shorter and is better suited as either a dedicated top kit case or for carrying a margin pole plus spare top kits. Of course you can also carry rods in them too (like I do). Either way both sizes offer plenty of room for sections and top kits, depending on your requirements.

Both cases have a long, inner zipped pocket, which is ideal for a landing net handle, but also serves as a divider between the two halves to help prevent sections from rubbing against each other when you’re on the move. Both cases feature hard-wearing, full-length zips so the holdall can be opened out easily for full access. There’s a carry handle and a removable shoulder strap on the cases and the exterior features a nicely embossed Middy logo and accents of the orange branding along the zip lines.

If you haven’t made the switch over to a hardcase pole/rod holdall yet then these could be just the upgrade you’re looking for. There are also a host of other Middy EVA items available, like a carryall and other cases, if you want to complete the look and go for a full set of matching luggage.

As with all luggage it’s a good idea to check it out in person before you buy, just to check they offer the capacity you need. However, with that said these two cases will absolutely cover 99 per cent of anglers and they can be purchased online from various places if you don’t have the time to check one out before you buy.
