New teams-of-six league filling up fast!
The Matrix and Van Den Eynde-backed teams-of-six league, which will run this winter, is filling up fast, according to organisers Sam Wildsmith and Tom Scholey.

With a maximum of 12 team places available, the league has already attracted eight teams, meaning there are just four places available.

League co-organiser Tom Scholey said: "Sam Wildsmith and I have been really happy with the interest we have received, and with eight teams already signed up, and plenty of interest for the other places, we fully expect the league to sell out.

"With generous sponsorship from Matrix, Van Den Eynde and Sam's tackle shop, Mill Tackle, a good payout will be guaranteed, both on each individual round and on the league overall."

"With a maximum of 12 teams of six taking part, the competition will take place at four different venues, starting on Saturday November 2nd at Hayfield Lakes near Doncaster. The second round will take place on Saturday December 7th on Lincolnshire’s Fossdyke Navigation, before moving to the Stainforth and Keadby Canal at Thorne on Saturday January 11th. The final round and presentation will take place at Woodland View Fishery near Droitwich on  Saturday February 8th.

All of the matches will be four hours in length, and fished to CIPS rules – meaning a 13 metre pole limit, and bait limits will be in place. In keeping with the international flavour of the event, carp will not count on any round. The overall result will decided on section points – with the winning team collecting somewhere between £1,500 and £2,000, depending on turn out. There will also be a £25 pool on each of the matches, meaning there will be good money to be won on each round as well.
