Staffed by keen anglers, the shop has built its quality reputation around being able to advise anglers on the tackle they need to catch more fish. Ian Heaps sponsors big money event. Pembrokeshire’s Holgan Farm Fishery, owned by former World Champion, Ian Heaps is to hold a festival – with a prize fund of more than £5,000. The event is set to coincide with Pembrokeshire’s Fish Week – and carries a first prize of £2,000! Ian explained: “I was eager to get involved with what is an important week for my area, and decided that running a festival would be the perfect way to do so!With the current financial climate, I was keen to keep things cheap – and have managed to secure a deal with a local caravan park. This means that I can offer festival entry, and accommodation for just £260 per person.
But the owners sell off old stock at massive discount!On the 3rd January, North West Angling Centre Ltd went into Voluntary Liquidation. Fortunately, the business was soon acquired by new owners, who have found themselves with over £500,000 worth of stock to get rid of!The old stock is now being sold with up to 75% discount, and more and more liquidation stock is being released on a daily basis with some absolute bargains available to punters! The new owners explained “NWAC was once famous for its size, with a turnover in excess of £5 million in its past years. We are investing heavily in all the major brands and expect to have the shop back to its former glory in next to no time!Since the liquidation was announced, the shop has been packed with bargain hunters, which are helping make way for the all the new stock from the main suppliers that is arriving daily. The clearance sale covers coarse, sea, game, match, carp, clothing and predator- in fact everything you could want.
New signings for Maver backed team. Maver North West are pleased to announce two brand new additions to the already formidable squad. Former England International Stef Gent and former Drennan star Jon Jowett (picture attached) have recently sided with Steve Crossley's Maver North West squad in a bid strengthen the team even further and increase the team's chances of success in major competitions. The team, which have built up a fearsome reputation over the last few years thanks to a series of good results on canals and other natural venues, are regarded as one of the country's best up and coming teams.
The third Northern Angling Show has been announced and will take place on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th, 2015. This event, which will once again be held at EventCity in Manchester, is the only angling show held in the north and is set to host some of the biggest retailers and angling stars in the business, including Rob Hughes and Des Taylor, while angling legend Bob Nudd, TV star Adam Penning and Nash Tackle’s Alan Blair will also be making an appearance. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, October 31st, 2014. All tickets purchased online will be sold at a reduced price and will include early entry to the show, automatic entry into an exclusive prize draw with over £1,500 worth of prizes – plus the option to claim various other goodies, including a free bookazine worth £9.

Team backed by Chinese bait firm win inaugural Cob House Winter League
Old Ghost have won the first winter league held at Worcestershire's Cob House fishery. The league was fished by 10 teams of four over six rounds although one round had to be called off due to bad weather. Over the course of the five rounds the Old Ghost team won three and finished 2nd in two of them. Each round was a test for all teams however a positive approach on each round from the anglers reaped the rewards.
Rotherham ace books place in Maver Match This Final. Ex England International Andy Oldham has won a place in the Maver Match This Grand Final, after winning the qualifier at Daiwa Hallcroft Fishery. Andy drew Peg 13 on Moat Island and finished 30lb clear of the rest of the field. The Halkon-Hunt-backed ace alternated between pellet waggler, and pellet fished shallow on the pole at 13 metres to catch 20 carp up to 9lb for a final weight of 155-02-00.
Top Yorkshire rod snapped up by Welsh brand. Former England International, and UK Champion, Andy Oldham has joined Frenzee as a sponsored consultant. Frenzee,
based in Newtown, Powys, mid-Wales are a company with expansion plans.
The brand has experienced a great year so far with sales well up on
previous years.
World Champs glory sees England youth top world rankings. England’s youth teams are quite literally on top of the world as they travel back from France, as this weekend’s fantastic World Championship performance has seen them rise to the top of the World rankings. The table – which is worked out on medal count over a five-year period, is used to determine which teams are regarded as the best in the world – and we now top the chart at both junior and senior levels. England’s international events co-ordinator, Dick Clegg, was the first to congratulate the teams and their management.
Environment Agency offer unique opportunity. The Environment Agency is seeking a business partner for an
exciting year long pilot project to increase online rod licence sales. Working between 2014 and 2015, the agency are seeking a business
partner to provide an attractive web-based offer that will help persuade more
anglers to buy their rod licence online.

Star-studded Stapeley spectacular on Saturday!An exciting open day is taking place this Saturday, April 27th, at Stapeley Angling Centre in Cheshire. Dozens
of star anglers are set to attend, including representatives from
Shimano, Nash, Fox, Korda, Sensas, Maver, Chub, MAP and Wychwood. Heading
up proceedings is current World Champion and Sensas rod Sean
Ashby, who will be on hand to discuss tackle, tactics and answer any
questions you may have. On top of this, Stapeley
staff have secured 50 tackle-packed goody bags, that will be awarded
to the first 50 anglers who spend over £20.
