Official results make grim reading for England and the home nations. Since our last post the official standings have been released and its looking difficult to see any way back for England who have finished lower than previously thought. Labouring down in 14th place, it would be easy to believe that they can’t get a medal of any colour but given the unpredictability of the venue anything could happen. 1st Netherland - 16 2nd Croatia - 23 3rd Serbia - 23 4th Czech Republic - 25 5th Germany - 28 13th Ireland - 41 14th England - 44 15th Scotland - 44 23rd Wales - 55 .

Second placed Lee Kerry owned Laurels Lake, with his 21-5-8 net almost doubling second place on the pool. Local lad wins AT Disabled National. Various circumstances saw just 19 anglers compete for the title of the Angling Trust National Champion at the scenic Blake Hall Fishery near Cheadle in Staffordshire. The pool, whilst not renowned for really big weights, has developed a fair reputation for delivering close matches where 50-60lb of fish can turn up almost anywhere. However, poor weather leading up to Saturday's match meant that the fishing was extremely hard.
