Sean steals the win in Round Two Of Lindhome Natural Baits League.
Dynamite ace Sean Cameron has won the second round of the Lindholme Lakes Natural Baits League, with a 43-14-0 net. Drawn on peg 63 on Laurels Lake, Sean found quality F1s on maggot tactics, feeding small balls of Swim Stim to keep fish coming.
In second place was Matrix rod Craig Butterfield, who put a 41-14-0 net together, again on maggots.
Scores of top anglers are set to do battle for the prestigious Maver Mega Match This weekend extravaganza!
The 2013 Mega 'Match This' Final takes place on the Match Lake at Maver Larford Lakes this Saturday, 31st August and will be shown on Sky TV in the autumn. Competing are some of the top names in the UK, including Fish O Mania champ Jamie Hughes, former Match This champ Andy Power, England International Tommy Pickering, Maver's own Andy Kinder and Match Fishing and Pole Fishing's very own Tom Scholey!
The Maver Mega 'Match This' event is the richest angling competition in the history of the sport offering one lucky angler the opportunity to lift the converted 'Match This' trophy standing over half a metre tall and receive the minimum £50,000 first place prize. This year's final will once again see 24 of angling's best from up and down the country compete for the sport's richest ever prize. There will also be an equally prestigious team championship event taking place on Sunday 1st September, which will see National representation from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland as well as International representation for the very first time from team Poland.
The RSPCA is appealing for people who may have seen a dog which was later found dead being walked by a canal inMiltonKeynes.
We are particularly asking any people who may have been fishing by the canal in March and may have seen something to call us.
The animal welfare charity is investigating the death of the dog - a tan Staffordshire bull terrier - who died in March this year. The dog was found hanging from a tree in Stanton Low Park.

A new initiative lets you do just that…and it won’t cost you a penny!The Angling Trades Association (ATA) has signed a solus agreement with Global Search Solutions Ltd (GSS) to supply a bespoke angling browser page that can be used by every angler. Every time anyone uses this new page, it will activate a donation funded by a well-known internet giant. These repeated donations will be collected in the newly formed Angling Participation Fund (APF) and be used to support angling projects and allied good causes across the UK.

Invasive species targeted by the government. CEFAS
has announced trials to find ways of reducing the impact of the none
native signal crayfish on English water bodies. CEFAS (the Centre for
Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science)is aiming to find the
most effective way of reducing signal crayfish numbers and their impacts
on our aquatic wildlife. The Defra-funded project is supported
by an army of volunteers from angling clubs and others with an interest
in the conservation of their local rivers, lakes and canals.
Addy and Keeley lead the pairs. After another hectic days fishing on the lochs and rivers of Ireland, it was all change at the top for competitors in the 2013 World Pairs Angling Challenge. The first day leaders, Francis McGoldrick and Dave Brettle dropped down to ninth place, with North West duo Lee Addy and Paul Keeley moving into top spot. In the individual stakes, Englands Rod Scott is setting the pace with a two day total of 52.

Masses of free content for Match and Pole Fishing readers. The men behind Match and Pole Fishing magazines are creating a host of videos, all of which are free to view on each magazines YouTube channel. Featuring star anglers, including Des Shipp, Steve Ringer, Alan Scotthorne and Rob Wootton, the team are creating more videos than ever before. Match Fishing’s Joe Carass explained: “For a long time, I have wanted to get more video footage on the bank – as there is no better way of demonstrating the all important details that give top anglers an edge on the bankside.
Team and individual glory for Thatchers. The sudden cold spell along with bright conditions made the fishing quite hard for many anglers, in the last round of the Sensas Commercial House League. With the team winners already decided from the previous match, interest turned to the individual title. Nick Chedzoy (Preston Innovations Thatchers A) made the most of his eng peg draw at Limpley Stoke to win not only the match but the individual title as well.
130 competitors gathered at the picturesque Hayfield Lakes, Doncaster on Saturday 12th March 2016 for the third Fish ‘O’ Mania qualifier on a cool misty morning. The fishery had recovered well after the recent heavy rains and although there was a cool south easterly breeze blowing the weather looked set fair. Recent 200 lb weights on this venue added to the expectation of a good days fishing. As the match got under way, reality soon dawned that that the cool wind and was having an effect, with most anglers struggling for early bites in the conditions.
Carr Vale to host two-day competitionCarr Vale Fishery in Bolsover is hosting a two-day Christmas competition. Taking place on Saturday, 28th and Sunday 29th December, the contest will see anglers fish two four-hour matches to decide the overall result. Organiser, Matt Godfrey explained: "Carr Vale is a cracking winter venue, being stuffed to the hilt with roach and skimmers, plus plenty of bonus crucians, and even the occasional tench. Co organiser, Tom Scholey and I always get restless with the lack of matches around Christmas, so last year decided to run something to give anglers an excuse to get out of the house for a few hours.
Quality fishing for a great cause. Hot new Redditch venue, Lower Park Fisheries, is running a charity match this September in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
The match, which is to be held on September 21st, will be just £12 (which includes hot dogs and tea) to enter with the top three on each pool being paid out.
There is also a vast amount of donated prizes, which the top five overall will receive.
MPs’ rocket to water companies over sex changing chemicals in rivers. The Angling Trust today has backed a hard-hitting report by a powerful group of MPs which urged water companies to remove gender-bending chemicals from waste water before they get into rivers. Angling Trust Chief Executive, Mark Lloyd said: “I am delighted that this all-party Select Committee backs what the Trust has been calling for over the past few years. “There is mounting evidence that these endocrine disruptor chemicals make fish change sex, can poison aquatic organisms and damage ecosystems.
