England ace, Des Shipp explains the importance of staying cool. “To get the most from any session, you have to be able to concentrate 100% on your fishing, and in order to do this you need to need to be cool, calm and collected” Drennan Team England guru, Des Shipp explained. “A lot of anglers neglect the impact that the hot conditions, such as those that we are experiencing at the minute can have on the human body – and as a result they are losing their focus, and this is costing them fish. I have been lucky enough to fish abroad in some very hot climates, and have seen first hand how other Country’s anglers deal with the heat.

Read his full match report below: “Today I’ve had a nice local trip to Lake View Fishery to try and qualify for the middy extreme winter series final. And to have my first outing with my new Maver Darkside 3 pole” “Peg 21 on Serpent pool was to be my home for the day and I must say I really didn’t fancy the peg at all! It was evident from the off that peg 2 was solid with fish and was likely to win, on the plus side of that…. Andy Searl who had drawn peg 2 had already qualified”.

All still to play for in £25,000 final. Everything is still to play for as the Parkdean Masters Final nears its midway point. Although early leader, Andy Leathers has continued to catch well, and is still leading the race, the number of big fish feeding means that a handful of bites could swing the match in any direction. As it stands, it is estimated that Andy has around 50lb, which puts him around 20lb in front of second placed Lee Kerry, who is admitting to 30lb.
